Taco Bell Launched Its First-Ever Gelato

Taco Bell Launched Its First-Ever Gelato

Cinnamon Twists, which are sweet and crispy, and Cinnabon Delights, which are infused with icing and are both products of Taco Bell, which is responsible for some of the most innovative desserts currently available at fast food restaurants.

However, its most recent dish may very well be one of the most original sweet concoctions ever devised.

Starting today, August 31, Taco Bell will begin conducting taste tests of their brand-new Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato that was just revealed. Fans of Taco Bell who do not reside in southern California may be disappointed to learn that the new dessert can only be purchased at the Irvine location of Taco Bell, which can be found at 4101 Campus Drive.

However, this does not necessarily imply that customers residing in states other than California will never have the opportunity to sample the gelato in the foreseeable future.

It is common practice among big fast food chains, including Taco Bell, to pilot new menu items at a limited number of restaurants before deciding whether or not to roll them out across the chain more broadly at a later date.

The Baja Blast is Taco Bell’s signature drink, and it comes in a teal color. It is noted for having flavors that are tropical, zesty, and fruity. The newest rendition of everyone’s favorite frozen treat features those now-iconic flavor combinations.

“This is the first time we are releasing a gelato and we are so excited to hear how fans enjoy the sweet and creamy indulgence,” Liz Matthews, global chief food innovation officer at Taco Bell, said in a statement.

“Baja Blast is iconic to Taco Bell and has its own strong fandom, so introducing it in gelato form feels right. As the end of summer nears, this is the perfect treat to wrap up any Taco Bell meal.”

The eatery in Irvine is charging $2.99, in addition to tax, for take-out containers of the new gelato measuring 3.6 ounces each. If you are a fan of Baja Blast and live close enough to the California location, you need not wait too long before going there to pick up a cup of the limited-edition treat, since it will only be available for the next two weeks or until supplies run out, whichever comes first.

After the conclusion of the gelato test, customers of Taco Bell should keep an eye out for other interesting news about the company. In the press release announcing the new dessert, Taco Bell dropped a hint about “another flavorful Mtn Dew Baja Blast innovation that will be coming around the corner this fall.”

This year, Taco Bell has been testing out a variety of new menu items in limited markets, the most recent of which is the Baja Blast gelato.

At the beginning of this month, the chain made the announcement that it would be selling two new Flatbread Melts exclusively in the city of Dayton, Ohio, as well as a Shredded Beef Grilled Cheese Burrito in the city of Oklahoma City.

And beginning in the month of June, Taco Bell began testing its very first Vegan Crunchwrap, which had plant-based seasoned beef, vegan blanco sauce, vegan nacho sauce, shredded lettuce, and chopped tomatoes. The wrap was also vegan.
